My biggest disappointment in the Mass Effect series was that the Kurgan females weren’t like giant death-by-snu-snu dinosaur beasts.

Mass Effect has always struck me as having kind of a lot of lazy worldbuilding thrown in to justify “woops we forgot to make females for most of our alien races who aren’t Asari”, but I really hoped in my heart of hearts that when we finally got to see a Krogan female we were going to find out that the writers hid them for so long so they could surprise everyone by reflecting all those real-world frogs and lizards where the females can be 2-3 times the size of the males in their design

Like ghat damn can you imagine that, you finally get to see a Krogan female and it’s like “queue up Night on Bald Mountain because this is the end”

I guess it just disappoints me when people write fantasy creatures in fantasy universes based on real animals with the potential for physiology and social structures completely unlike humans, but still generally insist on giving them all human gender dynamics.

We usually try to avoid the females because what do you do with a female Turian? Do you give her breasts? What do you do? Do you put lipstick on her?
